What we do

Our Training

Four ways in, one approach behind them: clear rules, honest feedback, and a plan you can actually keep going with at home.

Reactivity & behaviour

Specialist behaviour work

Reactivity & behaviour

For dogs that lunge, bark or shut down around others, and owners who have started planning walks around avoiding everyone.

We work at a distance your dog can cope with and close it down gradually, so the progress is real and it lasts.

  • Lead reactivity
  • Nervous and fearful dogs
  • Rescue and rehomed dogs
  • Owner confidence rebuilt

Assessment first · £60 Programme agreed once we have seen the dog

One-to-one sessions

Fully personalised · Our HQ or your home

One-to-one sessions

No group distractions and no off-the-shelf programme. Dedicated training built around your dog and the things you actually need to change.

Recall, reactivity, lead manners or full obedience: we agree a plan and work it with you until it holds at home without us there.

  • Tailored to your dog
  • At our HQ or your home
  • Behaviour issues addressed
  • Progress reviewed each session

From £60 per session Single sessions · 5-session block £250 · 10-session block £500

Foundations & obedience

Foundations · Puppy through to adult

Foundations & obedience

The groundwork everything else is built on: lead manners, settling when asked, and a recall that works when it actually matters.

We start with an assessment so the plan fits the dog in front of us, then build at a pace you can keep up with.

  • Puppy foundations
  • Lead manners and heelwork
  • Reliable recall
  • Owner handling coached throughout

Introduction assessment £60 Then single sessions, or a 5- or 10-session block

Boarding & pack walks

Structured walks · Training all the way round

Boarding & pack walks

Structured group walks where the training carries on the whole time, not a free-for-all in a field.

Dogs learn to share space, settle and take direction with others around. Boarding runs on exactly the same rules.

  • Small, matched groups
  • Lead manners in real settings
  • Confidence around other dogs
  • Boarding by arrangement

Pack walks from £40 Booked online · Boarding arranged directly

Meet James

Founder & head trainer

Everything began when I brought home my little fluffy fat badger, Tige, in December 2022. With no prior experience or guidance, I committed myself to learning from scratch. Training Tige on my own wasn't just rewarding - it was the pivotal moment that set me on this path and ultimately changed my life. In helping him reach his full potential, I discovered a genuine passion for understanding dogs and how they learn.

Determined to be the best owner for him, I enrolled in a training course. It didn't take long for me to realise that this was far more than a personal interest - it was something I was meant to do and could build into a career. With that clarity, Woulfe's K9 Training officially started in February 2025 - with a printed T-shirt, on a muddy field in Tamworth's castle grounds.

My mission is simple: to help dogs become the best versions of themselves and to give their owners the knowledge and confidence to support them, building relationships based on trust and understanding.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We look forward to working with you and your best friend.

Our dog was re-active with other dogs after training Reggie improved greatly, not perfect but 100 % better. I can now walk him past other people with more confidence instead of walking in opposite direction. They have also trained me as I have learnt new ways to deal with Reggie and what I was doing wrong to make his behavour worse. Great Trainers down to earth, easy to talk to would highly recommend anyone give them a try to train both owners and dogs. January & February 2026

I’ve been taking my dog to Woulfe’s k9 for the past three months, and I’m honestly blown away by the results. My dog has progressed immensely in such a short time, I can confidently walk him off-lead now, which I never thought would be possible. James and Rick have been amazing to work with. Not only are they incredibly skilled trainers, but they’re also genuinely wonderful, hilarious people who make every session something we look forward too. I’ve learnt so much from them, and it’s amazing to see how much their knowledge has changed both my dog’s behaviour and my own confidence as an owner. I couldn’t be happier with the progress we’ve made. If you want people who truly understand dogs and make the whole experience enjoyable, Woulfe’s k9 is the place to go. I recommend them 100%.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ James, Ricky, and Ben have been absolutely amazing with our German Shepherd puppy, Koda! They’re so knowledgeable, honest, and upfront, which we really appreciated, and they’re also incredibly thorough in everything they do. We’ve learned so much about Koda’s training and behaviour, and he’s made amazing progress. You can tell they genuinely care about every dog they work with — Koda adores them! Couldn’t recommend Woulfe’s K9 Training enough🐾

I was looking to rehome my uncontrollable Great Dane cross Labrador due to his 8 stone weight and large size. We were pulled everywhere and he would jump up, he would push through doorways and knock us out of the way, we just weren’t in control at all. Then I saw someone out shopping with the best behaved dog I had ever seen and had to ask where he was trained. The owner explained that he was a dog trainer who worked with Woulfe’s k9 training in Tamworth. As soon as I got home I called and booked in for the pack walks and one to one training sessions. After having two pack walks and two, one to one sessions I have to report that we are keeping our lovely Tom. He walks to heel with a slack lead 😳 he will sit and wait nicely and he will follow me through doorways calmly. We can now take him out to the pub or garden centre without any issues which we never ever thought would be possible. It is remarkable that after such a short time we have a completely differently behaved dog. I can’t recommend the guys at Woulfe’s K9 enough, James, Ricky and Ben are so knowledgeable and thorough. Tom loves training and he’s proved to me that Woulfe’s K9 know exactly what they are doing. Thank you so much guys!

These guys have taken our Romanian rescue from a street dog to the best behaved boy! Chad’s confidence in himself and us has MASSIVELY grown. We’ve only had Chad since March but you would think we’ve had him from a pup thanks to the training that the guys have provided. Sound blokes with loads of knowledge and respect for dogs. Could not recommend more!

FAQs

Common questions

The things people ask before they book. If yours is not here, ask it. We would rather answer it than have you guess.

Training is ongoing, but most dogs show noticeable improvement within a few weeks of consistent training. Long-term success depends on repetition, structure, and owner involvement.

Training can begin as early as 8 weeks old. Puppies learn fastest at a young age, but dogs of any age can be successfully trained.

Yes. Older dogs can absolutely learn new behaviours. Training may take slightly longer, but results are just as effective with the right approach.

Short, regular sessions with our team work best. 3-4 short sessions a day at home are more effective than long, infrequent ones.

Common reasons include distractions, inconsistent training, or a lack of clarity. Training focuses on building focus and reliability.

Lead pulling is addressed through structured walking techniques, engagement training, and teaching your dog to walk calmly without tension.

Unwanted behaviours are usually signs of excitement, anxiety, or lack of boundaries. Training focuses on calm alternatives and consistent reinforcement.

No. Training also covers behaviour, confidence, social skills, impulse control, and strengthening the bond between dog and owner.
